You’re Not Alone — Let’s Navigate Healing Together

Charles Mental Health is a solo psychotherapy practice based in Naarm (Melbourne), working with trauma survivors and autistic adults. Using EMDR, somatic and neuro-affirmative approaches, the aim is simple: help your amygdala settle so life can feel calmer and more manageable.

Who I Help

My clients are mostly either trauma survivors – typically childhood, military, family or sexual trauma – or adults who live with symptoms of autism. Many arrive with both. I see people with general and social anxiety, poor anger management, relationship challenges, panic attacks, procrastination, catastrophising, hypervigilance, poor sleep and substance abuse.

How I Work

Unhealed trauma lives below language, so I work with the feelings inside and under your story. I use EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing – to treat PTSD and CPTSD wounds. About half the people I see are autistic adults; for neurodiversity, I work from a neuro-affirmative perspective, where cognitive reframing is often the more powerful tool. Either way, the long-term focus is the same: helping you regulate your amygdala so your life feels calmer.

Getting Started

50-minute sessions from 10am most days, with the latest appointment at 6pm Tuesday–Thursday. The fee is currently $190 per session, and Medicare rebates are available with a current mental health care plan from your GP. I also offer intensive treatment for deep attachment trauma and treatment-resistant CPTSD – from 2 hours to 4 days.
